ANTI FLYTIPPING SOLUTION / THE ROCK

This modular, covert CCTV solution has been designed to meet the needs of local authorities and enforcement agencies engaged in anti fly tipping operations. |
 |
| |

It provides an easy and cost effective way to produce video evidence that will secure convictions for fly tipping, graffiti and anti-social behavioural activities. It comprises three key components, all of which can be quickly and unobtrusively installed in target areas.

The covert camera and video transmitter are mounted inside a weather resistant moulded housing resembling a discarded lump of concrete and is equipped with infrared illumination enabling full operation in all light conditions. |
| |
| The brains of the system, which includes a video receiver and a mini digital video recorder, are mounted inside a further moulding and can be sited up to 100 metres away concealed in a hedgerow or similar. A pair of motion sensors, mounted inside a piece of scrap timber, sends a trigger signal to the camera when movement is detected. Importantly, the sensors are mounted to eliminate the incidence of false alarms caused by wild animals or by moving foliage. |
| |
| The system can be used at sites where there is no electrical power or lighting as MEL Secure Systems has eliminated the need for the large batteries that are traditionally required. Instead, it uses a small lithium Ion pack that mounts conveniently within the camera housing giving an operational life of up to 14 days. This extended life has been achieved by using the trigger signals sent from the remote sensors to switch the units on as movement is detected and off again when there is no further activity. |
| |
| The system consigns to the past the need for large, heavy batteries and bulky recording equipment, which often had to be buried underground – a labour intensive and time consuming process that always ran the risk of compromising the installation. |
| |
| MEL Secure Systems also provides a range of handheld devices with built-in 2.5" colour displays, which can be used to check the signal strength during installation or download stored images as well as remote monitoring during operations to catch culprits in the act of committing a crime. This unique system will extend the range of applications where covert CCTV can be implemented. It will play an important role in helping local authorities to increase the level of successful prosecutions and reduce the incidence of anti-social behaviour such as Flytipping. |
